One of the most popular messaging platforms in the world, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that is sure to make users that are prone to typos happy. Get this, the messaging app is working on the ability to edit text messages after they have already been sent!

Shared by wabetainfo, this ‘Edit text messages’ feature is currently being developed again after the idea was first experimented with by WhatsApp some five years ago. Essentially, the feature allows users to fix any typo after sending a message.

wabetainfo further shared a screenshot of the new feature in action, whereby when you long press a message, there will be a new ‘Edit’ option at the very bottom under ‘Copy’. However, since this feature is still under development, there’s not much info on how it would function, for example, whether there will only be a limited time window to edit messages or if recipients can check on edit history.

Furthermore, as this feature is still under development, there is no guarantee as to whether it would end up on the app or even its beta version. Well, we’ll just have to wait and see I guess.
